About this condition

What is overactive bladder?

Overactive bladder is a sudden, compelling urge to urinate that's hard to defer — often with frequency and waking overnight. When urine leaks with that urge, it's called urgency urinary incontinence. Treatment gently retrains the bladder–brain pattern rather than relying on drinking less or 'holding on'.
