Description

The BIEN Toilet Stool raises your feet so your knees sit above your hips on the toilet, bringing you closer to a squatting position.

The puborectalis muscle wraps around the rectum like a sling, creating a bend called the anorectal angle. Sitting upright keeps that angle more acute. Raising the knees allows the muscle to relax and the angle to open, so the bowel can empty with less effort and less straining.

Reducing straining is a common goal in pelvic floor physiotherapy, particularly for people managing constipation, haemorrhoids or prolapse.

Features

  • Stable, lightweight design
  • Tucks around the base of the toilet when not in use
  • Easy to wipe clean

A toilet stool is one part of good bowel habits, alongside diet, fluid intake and defaecation technique. If constipation or straining is an ongoing issue for you, it is worth discussing with your physiotherapist or GP rather than relying on a stool alone.
